How did we save money by building a new municipal complex?
Short answer – consolidation & energy savings.
Long answer – Prior to moving into the new municipal complex in 2020, each village department had their own building in separate locations. There was an admin building, a police garage, and a public works garage. The buildings were old and in poor condition. The energy bills were crazy expensive. Being in separate locations was not conducive to a collaboration between departments. Overall, it wasn’t great. So the Village demolished five of the blighted municipal buildings and created one award winning state of the art municipal complex to house all departments.
